man ifconfig
       hw class address
              Set the hardware address of this interface, if the
              device driver supports this operation. The keyword
              must be followed by the name of the hardware class
              and the printable ASCII equivalent of the hardware
              address. Hardware classes currently supported
              include ether (Ethernet), ax25 (AMPR AX.25), ARCnet
              and netrom (AMPR NET/ROM).

Now you figure out if my workstation has a real MAC ending in 42 or that
I just faked it ;)
And what if you got a company with like 10.000 employees and thus around
10.000 NIC's,
just move them around every now and then and then ask Jim if he can find

Actually I would find it all quite neat..... no more baby diaper adverts
but only the ads targetted at ME! :)
If one really wants to know many things about a person use google or any
other searching engine or pay somebody off or something...
